How to Register for Vigyan Vaibhav 2025 and What is the Fellowship Amount?

Hello Fellows, I’m interested in applying for the Vigyan Vaibhav 2025 fellowship but need some guidance on the registration process. Can someone explain the step-by-step procedure for online registration, including eligibility criteria, required documents, and important deadlines?

Additionally, I would like to know the fellowship amount awarded under this program and whether it varies based on research categories or qualifications. If anyone has applied or received this fellowship in previous years, pls share your experience regarding the selection process and benefits. Any official links or resources would also be highly appreciated. Thanks

Fellowship Information:

The “Vaishvik Bharatiya Vaigyanik” (VAIBHAV) Fellowship is an initiative by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. Its goal is to connect the Indian STEM diaspora with Indian institutions to boost research and development. The fellowship provides a monthly stipend of around ₹4,00,000 (approximately USD 5,000) for a period of one to two months each year, with the possibility of extending it up to three years. It also covers international travel costs, accommodation, and offers a contingency grant of ₹1,00,000 per year for research-related expenses in India.

Application Process for VAIBHAV Fellowship:

  1. Identify a Host Institution in India: Partner with an eligible Indian institution, such as universities ranked in the Top 200 of the NIRF or those with a NAAC ‘A+’ grade.

  2. Register on the e-PMS Portal: Go to the DST’s e-Project Management System (e-PMS) portal and complete the registration process.

  3. Submit Application: Log in to the e-PMS portal, choose the “VAIBHAV Fellowship” option, and fill out the application form with all necessary documents, including a statement of purpose, bio-data, a list of recent publications, and consent letters from the host institution.

For comprehensive guidelines and application submission, please refer to the official DST website or the e-PMS portal.

Please note that the VAIBHAV Fellowship is distinct from the “Vigyan Vaibhav 2025” event. While both share a common goal of promoting scientific collaboration and innovation, they are separate initiatives with different objectives and application processes
