The Tamil Nadu government has several marriage assistance schemes, including E.V.R. Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Scheme, Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Scheme, and Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Scheme. These Marriage Assistance Schemes are provided by the Social Welfare & Women Empowerment Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
- E.V.R. Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Scheme => Provides financial assistance and an 8-gram gold coin to daughters of poor widows. The annual family income must be below a certain limit. Applications can be submitted up to a day before the marriage.
- Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Scheme => Provides financial assistance to poor parents to marry off their daughters. The bride must have completed 18 years of age.
- Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Scheme => Provides financial assistance for inter-caste marriages. The application must be submitted before the child turns three years old.
- Annai Therasa Ninaivu Scheme => Provides financial assistance to orphaned girls. There is no income limit or educational qualification required.
- Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Higher Education Assurance Scheme => Provides financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month to girls studying from class 6 to 12 in government schools and taking admission to colleges.
