The Government of Kerala has launched the “Snehasparsham” scheme for the protection and assistance of unmarried mothers. The problems of unmarried mothers are linked to various socio-economic and cultural variables. In Kerala, this problem is linked to the ignorance and exploitation of the backward classes. It is reported that there are many women in Wayanad and other districts of Kerala who are victims of social exploitation and atrocities and are often forced to become unmarried mothers.
Unmarried mothers have special needs in education, employment, and health care especially reproductive and child health. Often they are neglected from the mainstream of life. The percentage of abortion-related threats and deaths is high among adolescent unmarried mothers. So I want to know How can I get the benefits of the Kerala Social Security Mission “Snehasparsham” and what its benefits are!
Under the Kerala Social Security Mission “Snehasparsham” scheme, the government is giving ₹1000 every month to the beneficiary women. An interesting fact is that the exploited women never blame the person who caused their misery, mainly due to their lifestyle. At a young age, they crave love and care. Their husbands do not stay with them for a long time. They go in search of jobs and sometimes do not return. They are replaced by someone else whom these women believe in. Therefore, their condition becomes miserable and it also becomes necessary to solve their problems.
