Who is eligible to apply for the MoEFCC Summer Internship Program in 2025? I’m looking for detailed information about the academic qualifications, age limits (if any), and whether students from all disciplines or only environmental-related fields can apply. Any insights from previous applicants would be appreciated!
Hey there! I recently completed the MoEFCC Summer Internship and I’m happy to share everything I know about the eligibility criteria for 2025 applicants.
Academic Qualifications:
The internship is open to students currently pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, or research-level courses. You should be enrolled in a recognized university/institution at the time of applying. Generally, students from the 2nd year onward in their degree programs are preferred, especially if they can demonstrate academic interest in environmental or climate-related subjects.
Field of Study:
While preference is often given to students from disciplines like environmental science, forestry, wildlife, botany, zoology, climate studies, geography, and law, it’s not strictly limited. I’ve seen interns from engineering, public policy, economics, and even journalism get selected—especially when they show a strong interest or project work related to the environment.
Age Limit:
There’s no officially stated age limit, but since it’s a student internship, most applicants are between 18–30 years. The key is that you must be a currently enrolled student—not a recent graduate.
Additional Requirements:
- You need to submit a brief statement of purpose during application.
- Some divisions may prefer students with prior research experience or academic projects.
- Good communication and writing skills can be a plus, especially for policy-related work.
I’ve explained the full process in detail—including tips to get selected and what to include in your SOP—in my YouTube video here:
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions—I’ll be happy to share more based on my experience.
